Jehlad Akin has been deeply intwined in music his whole life. Hailing from the east coast, now residing in San Diego, Jehlad takes inspiration from all connections he's made through places and people to create a unique, intertwined Neo-soul sound. We had the chance to catch up with Jehlad after seeing is awe-inspiring performance at Springboard West, below our some insight into how Jehlad strengthens connection through music, and what we can look forward to in the coming months. 

MDRN HSTRY spurred MDRN HSTRY spurred from a jam party one Cinco De Mayo, and the story only gets better from there. From hosting parties with live music in their Garage Mahal, to pushing the boundaries between the connection of music and performance, the band utilizes sound and space to create epic, mesmerizing, and rowdy shows set to a modern 70's-style sound. MDRN HSTRY has only just begun their journey, and are set to drop their first full-length album, TV Talk,

Growing up together, local band The Guest Room formed by combining their own individual musical tastes into a unique Neo-soul sound. The band has been releasing wonderful singles including their latest "Try", and are expecting to release their debut album in 2020. We got the chance to catch up with the  band about how they came to be, what motivates them, and what we can look forward to in the near future.

Eric Drake, Malcom Holman, Martin Holman, and Moses Holman came together in college with the goal to create music. Their band, Soul Flow, combines music from all different walks of life to create one beautiful melody with thoughtful, hip-hop style lyrical content. Originally from St. Louis, Soul Flow has uprooted and touched down in SoCal to pursue their passion, and we got the chance to ask them about their journey and what drives them to create.

Brothers Kyle and Kody Valentine formed psychedelic inspired rock band Holy Knives with the purpose to "ward off the march of reality" through dreamy compositions and compelling lyrical content. From their debut album Year of the black Dog to now, the band has begun to accumulate new music and are looking towards the new year to release a new EP. We got the chance to dive into how the duo creates their unique sound, what inspires them and their music, and what

We were lucky enough to catch them before their show down in Southern California, share some wine and talk about their journey, music and the secret to a long, successful career. Born out of Southern California, Andy Craig combines the local with New York jazz to create their own surf-style. Since 2015 when The Gloomies burst onto the scene, the band has been dropping music consistently, including their latest "Moonlight" released just this past month. We had the chance to ask the band about how they created their unique sound, and what inspires them to make music.

Hailing from South Carolina, two brothers Landon Rojas (lead vocals & guitar) and Cade Rojas (drummer) formed Lovely World along with childhood friend Cameron Smith (lead guitar).  Recently joined by bassist Michael Gilbert, the lineup is now complete. We were able to catch up with the band and share a little bit of the behind the scenes.

Interview --- 1. How did you all get your start in music, and how did you all meet originally? Erick - I started playing guitar when I was 9 years old.
